Homework Policy

One of the most important aspects of my homework policy this year will be my expectation that your child will read at least four nights at home every week.  I will be sending home reading logs that will require my students to fill out the book they are reading, how many pages they have read and the amount of time they have spent reading.  Please initial this form everyday.

Your child will be using their agenda to keep track of assignments and their due dates this year.  I will also be using it as a summary tool for instruction.  Any long term projects (book reports, research projects) will also be written and scheduled in the agenda.  Please have your students place their completed work in their take-home folder. 

Beyond the reading requirement, I will send home a spelling and word study packet on Mondays.  Math homework will be started in class and the completed work will be reviewed the next day.  It is my expectation that students spend no more than 30 minutes each night on these activities.  

Homework is due every Friday unless otherwise noted.
